How do I edit my answers and add additional story details?
Tap the 3 dot ellipsis menu at the top of the Q/A screen. Tap ‘Story Details’ to edit an answer. Tap the + icon to add new details.
How do I write the story?
After answering the questions posed by your virtual biographer, and adding other story details you want included in your story, tap the right arrow at the top of the Q/A screen. You then have the option of having your virtual biographer write the story (recommended), or to write the story yourself.
There is no charge to write the story yourself. Simply type or dictate your story, or cut-and-paste the text created in a word processing program.
The charge to have your virtual biographer write the story is only $0.99. It does an excellent job. You can always edit the story written by your virtual biographer to suit your taste and style.
How do I Insert photos and video clips into my story?
After the story is written, you can view it and edit it. On the ‘Enhance Story’ screen you can insert photos and video clips, select background music and a narrator.
Tap ‘Add Media’ to insert photos and/or video clips into your story. First, place the cursor at the location in the text where you want the photo or video clip to appear. Then tap ‘+ Media’ at the top of the screen. Tap ‘Add Media’ on the Enhance Story screen.

What’s the difference between Preview and Publish?
Preview will generate a low resolution slide show. You can share this preview by tapping “Share” and sending the link to friends and family members, or by posting it on your social media pages. There is no charge to you or those you share the story with.
Publish will render a high resolution MP4 video for download and safekeeping. The fee is $3.99.
If I Publish my story and then go back and make edits, or add new photos, do I have to pay again to Publish the updated story.
Yes, if you Publish an edited story you will need to pay the fee again — it’s essentially a whole new story. However, you can edit and PREVIEW your story and video at NO CHARGE. You can also SHARE the Preview Video at no charge. So, make sure to use the PREVIEW feature until you get the story just the way you like it, then PUBLISH it to create the high resolution video for download.
Note: We soon be adding a “Subscribe” option that will enable you to create unlimited stories and unlimited versions of the same stories, and publish them for one annual price.
The App is not accepting video clips I recorded using my phone.
The Times of My Life app supports the MP4 video format. Most Android phones allow you to record in MP4 format. The default format for iPhone is .MOV. You can either change this in your settings->camera->formats->most compatible (which will record in MP4 format on most models), or you can use a free converter like freeconvert.com.
